APPARATUS STAGING OVERVIEW
- Plan to arrive at staging by 0600hrs.
- As you near staging, it is essential that all incoming FIRE apparatus (heavy and light) use voice communications and contact the Event Staging Manager via "CAL EMA / OES WHITE 2" (Freq. 154.2650) (including LAFD). The Procession Group Supervisor will also monitor this Frequency to assist with coordination of Fire Apparatus.
- Enter Staging via 6th Street, located on Main Street at 1st Street. You will be met by LAFD Staging personnel. They will be able to answer any questions.
- All marked emergency vehicles (Light and Heavy) will be placed on the procession route.
- Unmarked agency vehicles will be parked NEAR the procession route.
- After checking in, proceed with your apparatus and crew (as directed) North on Main Street to Temple Street and continue until you reach the apparatus already placed ahead of you.
- The procession will begin at 0830hrs.
- You will then be directed to park parallel to curb on either side of the street with your front bumper approximately six (6) feet from the rear bumper of the apparatus ahead of you.
- Please park so both sides of the street are evenly staged with apparatus.
- Remain with your apparatus. Your apparatus will remain staged (parked) in this position throughout the procession.

PROCESSION INSTRUCTIONS (Staged apparatus crews)
- The procession begins a approximately 0830 hours. At that time stand at parade rest – evenly spaced and parallel with your apparatus on the street (procession) side. Captain will be closest to the front of the apparatus when forming your line.
- Designate one member to remain inside apparatus. This member will be turning on the emergency lights of the apparatus at the proper moment. Leave a space for this member to immediately rejoin your honor line after turning on the lights.
- When the beginning of the procession (E-97) reaches a point even with the second apparatus behind you in line – call your members to attention and have the member inside the apparatus turn on the emergency lights and rejoin your honor line at attention. Leave your emergency lights on until you join the procession.
- When E-97 is even with your apparatus salute crisply and in unison.
- Hold your salute until E-97, the Colors, the Pipers and the Family and Dignitaries have passed you.
- Complete your salute and return to attention as the remainder of the uniformed procession members continues to pass by.
- As the end of the uniformed procession reaches you, fall in with your crew and join the procession as it moves toward the church.
