The Los Angeles Fire Department is extremely appreciative of this out pouring of support and well wishes. The Department also finds it necessary to remind the community to be aware of fraudulent and less scrupulous factions that would use these circumstances for their own benefit. Please take the time to verify the validity of any group or organization’s solicitation of funds related to this unfortunate incident. There are many fine employee organizations that can legitimately support the needs of the family. Any person (s) or Community Organization interested in a list of recognized groups may refer to the Los Angeles Firemen’s Relief Association and the Los Angeles Firemen’s Credit Union for established programs setup on behalf of the Allen Family.
