Our website is designed with the public in mind. We want you to find what you need - quickly and without confusion. To that end, we have a series of elements of which you should be aware.
- Top Shortcut Navigation: These five elements are shortcuts to important information that is a core component of the LAFD web environment. Just click on any of these elements and you'll get to the selection option with a single click.
- Sidebar Main Navigation: On the left-hand side of the website, you'll see a vertical column that includes all of the key elements required for the LAFD website. Many of these selections have a series of sub-options available that you'll discover when you select the parent element. While this navigation style does require more than a single click, it will make finding what you need faster and easier.
- Featured Navigation: Next to the vertical Main Navigation, you'll see a rotating series of images with a title hyperlink. These are current or topical navigation elements. These navigation items will change on a seasonal or "as needed" basis. This is also where you can find important breaking news, when the LAFD chooses to use the space.
- Bottom Navigation: The bottom of the website display includes some important navigation options for legal and support purposes. These are not essential to your ability to cruise through the site, but they are extremely important as they define your legal rights, limitations and the policies we set in place to protect the content of the website.
