Is MySafe:LA a unit of the Los Angeles Fire Department?

MySafe:LA is a California 501c3 public benefit corporation that works in collaboration with the Los Angeles Fire Department to deliver fire and life safety education to the public and to department members. MySafe:LA officers and presenters often work in unison with active LAFD members and are uniformed (but not all are sworn members of the department). MySafe:LA members are actively involved in school presentations, rec & parks events, senior center education sessions, as well as training sessions within various LAFD fire stations.

The MySafe:LA board includes active and retired LAFD officers, and the MySafe:LA Advisory Board includes physicians, educators, media experts, as well as active and retired LAFD Chief Officers.
