Battalion Commanders
The Los Angeles Fire Department is a highly regimented agency that endorses paramilitary command principles. Ensuring oversight and command responsibility for a cluster of Neighborhood Fire Stations is a Battalion Commander, also known as a Battalion Chief.
The LAFD is divided into sixteen Battalion's each overseen by a single Battalion Chief at any given time.
- Battalion 1 - commanding Downtown and the Civic Center
- Battalion 2 - commanding Northeast LA, Dodger Stadium and the LA Zoo
- Battalion 3 - commanding South Central Los Angeles
- Battalion 4 - commanding LAX, West LA and Venice
- Battalion 5 - commanding Hollywood, Los Feliz and Griffith Park
- Battalion 6 - commanding the Harbor, San Pedro and Wilmington
- Battalion 7 - commanding East LA, Lincoln Heights and El Sereno
- Battalion 9 - commanding Westwood, West LA and Pacific Palisades
- Battalion 10 - commanding the Central San Fernando Valley
- Battalion 11 - commanding Central Los Angeles, Echo Park and the Miracle Mile
- Battalion 12 - commanding the Northeast San Fernando Valley
- Battalion 13 - commanding Watts and South Los Angeles
- Battalion 14 - commanding the Southeast San Fernando Valley
- Battalion 15 - commanding the Northwest San Fernando Valley
- Battalion 17 - commanding the Southwest San Fernando Valley
