KNOCKDOWN Structure Fire; INC#1483; 06:33PM; 10312 N Norris Av; https://bit.ly/441ptPa; #Pacoima; Firefighters forced entry into the one-story commercial building to find smoke inside. As they investigated further, they located a fire inside, which had not yet spread to the structural members (contents fire only). Crews quickly deployed hose lines to extinguish the flames before they had more widely spread. It took 32 firefighters 20 minutes to respond, access, and extinguish the flames. No reported injuries. LAFD crews prevented flames from entering the 1,582 square foot home. No injury reported. Update Industrial Fatality; INC#0873; 01:27PM; 970 N Moraga Dr; https://bit.ly/4aydJ9u; #BelAir; Despite the quick response of LAFD crews, including those specially trained, certified and equipped for Urban Search & Rescue operations, the adult male worker trapped beneath a toppled forklift that had been carrying steel rebar at a construction site, proved beyond medical help and he has been determined dead and remains at the scene. No other injuries have been reported. LAFD personnel are securing and stabilizing the scene, as they prepare to assist the Medical Examiner (unknown ETA) with the discreet and dignified recovery of his remains. Update Structure Fire; INC#1581; 11:59PM; 502 W 77th St; https://bit.ly/3JjUynN; #VermontKnolls; LAFD Firefighters saved two dogs (uninjured) from the fire, which was fueled by excessive personal storage within the structure. No civilian or firefighter injuries were reported. At least 3 residents will be displaced by the fire. They are receiving temporary placement assistance and recovery guidance from the American Red Cross, and personal necessities support from the California Fire Foundation SAVE Program ( https://www.cafirefoundation.org/what-we-do/for-communities/save ).
